Frequently Asked Questions
01. What are Tera ex Pokemon?
Tera ex Pokemon are ex cards that have Terastallized, shown by a crystallized card border. They typically have a different type than their normal form and feature unique attacks. Tera ex Pokemon have no weakness, making them defensively stronger.
02. How many Charizard cards are in Obsidian Flames?
Obsidian Flames contains multiple Charizard ex cards: the standard ex, Illustration Rare ex, and Special Art Rare ex. The SAR version is the most valuable and features an elaborate scene of Charizard in a volcanic landscape.
03. Is Charizard ex from Obsidian Flames competitive?
Charizard ex (with the Tera Dark type) saw competitive play with its Burning Dark attack doing 180 plus 30 for each Prize card the opponent has taken. It was a solid tier-2 deck often paired with Pidgeot ex for consistency.
04. What is the Tera weakness mechanic?
Tera ex Pokemon have no weakness printed on the card, unlike standard Pokemon. This makes them harder to knock out since opponents cannot hit for double damage through weakness exploitation.
